A brief introduction to the players.

James Ingamells

All Rounder

Blankney born and bred, local lad James took over the Sunday captaincy at the beginning of the 2009 season and promptly led Blankney to the worst in their clubs history! An all rounder with an aggressive batting nature and left arm opening bowler.

Andy Foster

Wicketkeeper/Batsman

A stalwart of Blankney CC, who always gives 100%, whether it be behind the stumps, in the middle or to raise player morale in the field. Is suspect to wearing Teflon gloves now and again, but a reliable member of both teams.

Dave Pearse

Batsman/Groundsman

If you look up clubman in the dictionary you will see a picture of Dave. Spends endless hours on the ground, and plays Saturdays and Sundays every week without fail. This contributes to the brownest arms and whitest body in he club. A food connoisseur who is always first at the teas.

Simon Atkinson

Batsman

Midweek captain and long standing Sunday player, "Pip" is another player who never lets the side down. Improvements in his batting have been noticed over the last couple of years, pushing him up the order. His fielding style like many others at Blankney can be classed as unique.

Ian Holvey

Bowler

Sir Ian Holvey is Mr Blankney Cricket Club, treasurer, secretary, opening bowler, money collector, tea organiser. There is nothing Ian doesn't do for the club, and is very much appreciated by all. He is also the new fashion icon of the club with his designer purple footwear being seen for the first time this season.

Phil Woodcock

All Rounder

Phil is a fantastic cricketer, well known in the local circles as a top class batsman. He also contributes highly with the ball and in the field. The cracking of his back and other body parts during his pre match warm up exercises usually frighten the visiting spectators and players.

Simon Behan

Batsman

The most talented batsman at the club, confirmed by the 900+ runs scored during the 2009 season. Mr Dependable for the Saturday team at the top of the order. Seems to have settled at the club after playing for 34 other clubs in the county!

Terry Enever

All Rounder

A new addition to the club in 2009, Terry comes from darn sowth, and has brought with him an aggressive batting style and accurate bowling. He is slightly injury prone, which is probably not helped by the captain bowling him 10 overs straight and then making him bat at 3.

Simon Craft

Batsman

Simon has been with Blankney longer than a lot of the younger players have been alive. Outlasting the likes of Allen, Figgitt et al, Simon is still a strong addition to the Saturday batting line up.

James Garner

Speciality Unknown

James, even though he might not be blessed with the greatest amount of cricketing expertise, he is certainly a much valued team member, and never ever lets the club down. A great man to have in any team to lift players spirits, even if its done by trying to catch a ball in his mouth like at Boston in 2009. His aim for 2010 is to score a boundary, and being pushed up the order to a lofty number 10 might help him achieve this aim.

Kaine Chappell

All Rounder

A new recruit for the 2010 season, Kaine is another player with Potter connections that has fitted in well, and has shown good commitment in early season nets. Having not played for near on 10 years a few earlier signs of rustiness were expected, but a wicket taking debut dispelled these rumours.

Gareth Schwandt

Bowler

A quick opening bowler, Gaz joined the club in 2009 with some impressive net displays. Every game he seems to improve, and at his tender years will only get better. The only problem we have had is the different variations of his surname found in the scorebook!

Ed Shores

All rounder

Another promising youngster is as adept with both bat and ball as well as being an excellent fielder.

Neil Gilbert

Bowling All Rounder

A new recruit to the club, and has already staked his claim to be the best bowler with wickets for every team. Lightneing quick both with the ball and in the field. His family sized kit bag is causing changing room extensions to be drawn up.

Dave Thomas

Batsman

Another new recruit, Dave looks an accomplished top order batsman, as well as being agile in the field.

Lee Allman

All Rounder

After a season off in 2009, new dad "Rambo" rejoins for the 2010 season. A strong, quick scoring batsman, who also bowls some good leg spin, as well as being the best fielder at the club.

Sam Palmer

Bowler

Left arm bowler who has an uncanny knack of being able to make the ball wobble in the air, thus deceiving many a batsman.

Tom Woodcock

Bowler

The offspring of Phil Woodcock just had to be good at cricket, and luckily for BCC, Tom is. A wicket taking bowler who is also partial to scoring a few runs.

Callum Steele

 All Rounder

Undoubted talent, local youngster Callum is adept with both bat and ball. Pink hats and tights are also included in his list of talents!

Ade Dann

 Bowler

Slow bowler that can often take game winning wickets. Another with a unique fielding style.

Tom Hall

Batsman

Another youngster with bags of potential. A strong batsman with a good eye and technique, as well as being very quick around the field.

Ashley Jarvis

All Rounder

Talented with bat and ball, and comfortable batting any where in the order "Jarv" is a great asset to have in any team

Cameron Donald

All Rounder

Opening left handed bat, in the same mould as Phil Woodcock, difficult to get out, and a knack of scoring runs. Also bowls some good left arm medium pace and picks up wickets regularly

Jake Ellis

All Rounder

Dimunitive leg spinner that turns the ball a huge amount. Also chips in with a few runs, and very quick around the field.

Matt Rhodes

All Rounder

Another young player with bags of potential. A true all rounder who likes to play shots. Can bowl medium pace as well as spin.

Charlie Gilbert

Batsman

An aggresive left handed bat, who can strike the ball a very long way. A good fielder with a safe pair of hands, even though if he was any more laid back he would fall over!

Tony Fox

General Blankney Cricket Club Legend

Blankney Cricket Club was reformed in 1991, and this was mainly down to Mr C.A.Fox. This man has done everything and anything for the club, and each and every player that plays for BCC should be indebted to him for being so prominent in making the club what it is today.
